My Wedding Card for Delightful Sketches #4

It's my big brother's wedding this weekend & so I wanted this card to be a bit special, I really took my time doing the card to get it right & I'm pleased with the results - phew! I didn't want to overdo it and have kept it fairly simple and uncluttered as I think that's what my brother & his fiancee would like.

I used the sketch for the challenge over at Delightful Sketches which I really liked the looked of. The image is one of June's gorgeous vintage freebies she gives away on her blog Art Freebies, as soon as I saw this picture a while ago I knew I wanted to use it for my brother's card as his Fiancee is French and I liked the French sentiment. The DSP's are Papermania, bought especially for this card, it's a double sided sheet and I don't know if you can see it, but the strip across the top is a music script and it says on it "Wedding March" which is just visible at the top left. The cardstock is SU! Ruby Red and the lace and roses are from my stash.

I've used the same paper inside and also cut out some hearts - should have taken a photo, it's a bit dark now!!

Carol's Fun Sketch meets Pink Petticoat

This is my "just by the skin of my teeth" entry for this fortnights Carol's Fun Sketch Challenge, which has to be in by 10pm this evening (it's now 9.28!) talk about leaving it to the last minute!! I've been meaning to do it for the last few days, but just haven't managed to fit it in & then today I saw these new digi-images from Pink Petticoat & fell in love, and decided to combine Carol's challenge with Pink Petticoat's Summer Themed Challenge for August. I printed out the digi-stamp, no problem, chose some PP papers and my printer decided it just didn't want to print out in colour this evening - no thanks very much, I'm on a colour strike! So after faffing about for far too long I had to find matching papers in my craft room stash instead.

So the image has been coloured with ProMarkers, the DSPs are Pebble Ink, c/s is Stampin' Up! Old Olive (which matched the Olive PM beautifully), the ribbon is SU Very Vanilla coloured with the same yellow PM as the flowers. I've put three strips of Old Olive c/s through my Cuttlebug with a flowery embossing folder as I was running out of time & struggling to find another good paper to match!

Phew - right must get this entered pronto!

Oh & sorry about the pic quality, the colours are brighter in real life, but had to take indoors with a flash (due to it now being dark outside!)

Passion for ProMarkers meets Digital Tuesday

Have combined two challenges with this card - the theme over at Passion for ProMarkers this week was a sketch & an open colour combo, which was great for me as I don't have a massive range of PM's and nearly every week only seem to have one of the colours required to take part. I've combined it with Digital Tuesday's Challenge, which this week was "bling" and we all love a bit of bling! Well I do anyway!!

The stamp is a digi-stamp from Digi-Stamp Boutique, coloured with Rose Pink, Warm Grey 1, Blossom & Gold PMs, the papers are Stampin' Up! Tea Party, the c/s is also SU - Pretty in Pink. The sentiment is from a rub-on, which I've never had any success with in the past, but read somewhere that you can use a Cuttlebug with rub-ons and it worked a treat, once I'd got the sandwich right, so well pleased with that little tip! The flowers were cut using an X-Cut punch and the bling flowers are from my stash.

There's Magic in the Air - It's a Celebration

Nina is giving away this great digi-stamp this week for the challenge over at There's Magic in the Air, which is all about Celebrations.

I thought the image would make a great boy's card and as it's my nephew's 5th birthday this weekend, and he's a very cheeky monkey I thought it would be appropriate to make the card for him! I've coloured my image with ProMarkers, the digi-papers are from Digi-Scrap Kits which I bought to go with the image as despite my enormous collection of papers & digi-papers I just couldn't find the right one, but like the jungley colours on these. The c/s is Stampin' Up! Glorious Green, the sentiment is a peel-off I've coloured & the name has been cut out with my Cuttlebug. The card was put together really quickly, shame I spent about 3 hours looking for the right papers!
