Oops guess what I forgot!

I was so pleased with myself yesterday, I got back into the blogging hotseat, I caught up with a zillion posts and left comments, I posted the new challenge & the winners post on Sophisticats and totally forgot to post my DT card on here - D'uh!!!

So here it is, better late than never! Gina set the challenge this week & it's distressing so hopefully you can see where I've distressed the edges of the cardstock & paper using my trusty SU distressing tool. For the bird I have shamelessly nicked the idea from my very talented friend Kaz, I've used the gorgeous new two-step bird punch as a template and chalked in the image which gives such a lovely soft effect.

Sophisticats Launch Day

It's our big launch over at Sophisticats today - yippee - so hope you can hop over & join us in the fun!

We have a great sketch to follow for our first challenge, designed by our No. 1 Sophisticat (and all round good egg!) Lisa:

I spent ages fiddling around with this layout and finally got my card sorted, all those curved lines threw me a curve ball for sure - I must be a straight and angular kinda gal, but I'm sure for all your talented & creative wonders out there - it'll be a breeze! Remember you can turn the sketch around as long as we can see the original in your design & your entry can be anything, cards ATCs, scrap pages etc.

I've kept my card all Stampin' Up! The beautiful DSP's are retiring at the end of this month, as is the (main image) stamp set (Hostess gift, level 1) so if you would like to order either of these items, then just pop me an email.

Stamp With Us & Little Paper Shop

Two challenges with one card today - I'm entering this for Stamp With Us - Colour Challenge (pink, red & orange) & Little Paper Shop's sketch.

A simple card made with one of my newer (and already a favourite) stamp sets from SU! "Pick a Petal". Apart from the little orange flowers, which are from my stash, the rest is all SU! as follows:

C/stock - Whisper White, Only Orange, Real Red, Pixie Pink

Ink - Pixie Pink, Real Red

Stamp sets - Pick A Petal, Fresh Cuts (sentiment)

The sun's shining, so I'm off for a sit in the garden with an ice-cream!

A Passion For Papertrey #11

This is my card for this week's challenge over at A Passion for Papertrey which is to make a Thank You card. I only possess a teeny weeny amout of PTI & hate using it LOL but managed to cut into both paper & cardstock for this card! Also quite a challenge for me to do such a simple card, I used a sketch from Clean & Simple and I think I like my card but found it so hard not to keep adding to it - the little button in the corner is an extra to the sketch, but I made a mistake on my line - ssssh!

The petals have been stamped using an SU! stamp from the set Pick A Petal (the little word on the edge says "smile"), DSP is PTI Father Knows Best, c/s PTI Summer Sunrise, the sentiment is SU! Fresh Cuts, button is from my stash & the brad is a Making Memories one. I've drawn the rectangle using a Nestability with an SU marker in Chocolate Chip.

Polka Doodles Challenge No. 5

I was thrilled to bits when my new Stampin' Up! stamp set "Fresh Cuts" arrived this afternoon. I've had my eye on it for a while and ordered it last week, had to ink it up straight away & decided to use it with the sketch for Polka Doodles challenge. The sentiment is from the same set, I've used SU! cardstock in Very Vanilla & Chocolate Chip, the ink is Chocolate Chip and the flowers, buttons & pearls are all from my stash.

I'm really pleased with this card, and once I had the idea of what I was going to do, it didn't take very long at all.
