Floral Frenzy

Flowers for a 60th

Side view

Hello there, it's the weekend - hooray and here's my DT card for Sweet Stampin, our challenge this week is called Floral Frenzy.

I made my card for a friend who commissioned it for a 60th birthday and it was one of those" oh do whatever you like" kinda requests, so I made it and hoped she'd like it - luckily she loved it!

Our sponsor this month is a lovely lady and one hell of a crafter - oh it's me - he, he! I'm giving away a mixed pack of Stampin' Up! 6x6 double sided papers, there are papers from about 8 different packs so plenty to get your hands on, but you have to join in to win. The more challenges you enter this month, the more chances you have, plus if you use any SU! products on your projects, you get two entries for that project! So hope you can join us.

I'm entering my card in Get Funky's February challenge, it's a free theme for the month & I've used FunkyHand papers on my card. I've cut the flowers and the "60" out on a Cricut, I've got one on a borrow at the moment whilst a friend is holidaying (for two months, lucky so-and-so) in Australia but I'm very excited as hubby is now buying me one for my birthday - whoop, whoop! I've put SU! Dazzling Diamonds around the edge of each flower, and added some card candy (from my stash) to the centres, the ribbon is from my stash and the sentiment is SU! from the set Cheer & Wishes.

Hope you can join us this week & have a great weekend.

Get Sketchy #14

I made this card following Get Sketchy's sketch this week, I did it orginally for my Brother in Law's birthday, but then decided it wasn't really him, so back to the drawing board! Pic's a bit washed out, the colours are slightly darker in real life.

Recipe: All Stampin' Up!
Stamps - Queue Up (L3 Hostess); Cheer & Wishes
DSP - Haiku (retired)
Cardstock - Very Vanilla, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie
Ink - Chocolate Chip
SU! Markers in various Earth Element colours plus Real Red
Other - brad from stash, embossing folder

C.R.A.F.T. Challenge # 12

This is my card for this week's CRAFT Challenge, which was a great sketch. I'm not sure if this is a bit too busy with the background paper but I thought it would go well with the little bird stamp which I picked up last week for only 99p and is one of the new My Mind's Eye stamps. I've inked it up with Stampin' Up! markers as it's a solid stamp and I wanted some different colours on it, I've used Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie & Ruby Red, which co-ordinated well with the papers, the two swirls on the side are from an old stamp set I've had for years (and never used!), it was just a little border stamp.

The DSP is "We are Memory Keepers", the sentiment is Stampin' Up! from the set "Cheer & Wishes" inked up with SU Chocolate Chip, c/s - SU Old Olive & Pumpkin Pie & the orange ribbon is from my stash, but originally was the hanging labels on a T-shirt I bought & cut out (knew it would come in handy one day!)

Crafty Creations - No. 22

I've been a busy girl this morning and finally got a bit of crafting done, I've made three cards and have another one, hopefully two to do this afternoon, but can only show you this one I've done so far as the other two are birthday cards for some fellow bloggers and I don't want to spoil the surprise!

This card I've made for my lovely Auntie Sheila who is 80 next week and I think the chances of her seeing my blog before the card arrives in South Wales is highly unlikely!

It's my first flowerpot card & I loved doing it, will definitely be doing one of these again (and thanks to Helen of All Things Stampy for the instructions) and I'm entering it into Crafty Creations Celebrations Challenge (ooh what a lot of "C"s!!)

I've used SU! cardstock More Mustard for the pot, the DSP is from Sweet Always and the ribbon is SU! Whisper White, the flowers I've cut out of a sheet of toppers I've had for ages - I think they're Buzzcraft, the sentiment is SU! from "Cheer & Wishes" and is layered onto Pixie Pink c/s, to finish I've cut out the 80 digits on my Cuttlebug.

The Pink Elephant & Pollycraft Challenges

I've used this week's sketch over at The Pink Elephant and combined it with Pollycraft's theme, which was bling. Now I know there's not an awful lot of bling on this card & the reason is I was so busy deciding on the Pollycraft image to use, finding the papers and putting the card together, I totally forgot about the "bling" factor and when I'd finished and realised my error I felt that the card wouldn't look right with loads of bling on it, so I added the little diamante heart as it fit with the theme of the card and hopefully is enough for the theme of the challenge too!

I've coloured the image in with SU! markers in Bashful Blue and Certainly Celery, to match the cardstock & also used Promarkers, the DSP's are from Summertime Designs and the sentiment is SU! from the set "Cheer & Wishes"

Tuesday Taggers & Digital Tuesday Challenges

I have managed to do two challenges with this little tag card, a new Challenge Blog called Tuesday Taggers were asking for something "new" on a tag to launch their blog, and I thought of this image as a graduation leads on to new things, whilst over at Digital Tuesday the challenge was "Tag You're It"

The image is a download from Pink Petticoat called "Yoo Hoo" and comes with the Wise Guy sentiment (and also without if you prefer), I've coloured him with my SU markers in Close to Cocoa, Creamy Caramel and Garden Green.  The cardstock is SU More Mustard and the DSPs are SU from the sets "Sweet Always" and "Tea and Crumpets".  The congrats sentiment is from the SU set "Cheer & Wishes".  The tag shape I've cut by hand (you can tell) as I didn't have a decent sized die for this, but hopefully it's slightly wobbly edges add to the charm!! That's my excuse anyway!

Show's Over and a Challenge card

Last night was the final night of the show I've been in with my AmDram Society, a very saucy comedy called "Habeas Corpus" which has been great fun to do and went down very well with the audiences. We had a full house each of the 3 nights, and lots of laughs which makes it all worthwhile. It's always a bit of a relief when it's all done, but sad at the same time - ah well, onto the next one! This is me dressed up as Connie Wicksteed, a sad spinster who longs to have a bigger bust (and when she gets one misbehaves terribly!) It was a great role, really fun to do, but not very glamorous! LOL

Got a load of birthdays coming up so made a start on some cards today, this one is for my stepson, who trained as a chef for a while, so it seemed rather apt! I'm also going to enter it into this week's Cupcake Craft Challenge which is to make a card for a man or boy, the one thing all us cardmakers seem to struggle with!

The image is a retired SU! stamp, that I got from a lovely lady called Ali, who let me have a play with her SU! stamps when she came over to my house for a class. I've coloured him with a right old mixture of SU! markers, ProMarkers and Sakura Glaze pens. The sentiment is SU! from the set "Cheer & Wishes" and has been inked up with Night of Navy, the cardstock is SU! Whisper White and Really Rust which I've embossed with a Cuttlebug folder, the blue paper is from Pebble Ink (which matched the Night of Navy quite well) and the eyelets are from my stash.

DigiStamp Boutique - May competition

This is my entry for DigiStamp Boutique's first competition, using one of their downloads from the Love Bird Collection, this is such a sweet image & I thought it would make a lovely Anniversary card.

I've coloured the birds using my Stampin' Up! markers in Pretty in Pink & Bashful Blue, I've used the same coloured cardstock to match, and the papers are Pebble Ink (pink) and K&Co (blue).  The sentiment is SU from the set "Cheer & Wishes" and the ribbon & flowers are from my stash.
