Saturday Spotlight With Hidden Potential

There's a new challenge blog starting up soon called Saturday Spotlight with Hidden Potential & they're giving away this huuuuuuge candy, hop on over here for a look & a chance to join in.

Get Sketchy #3

I've used the sketch over at Get Sketchy for this card and the gorgeous Hanglar image is one of a pile of lovely stamped images I won recently in a candy from Tilde, I just love the Hanglar stamps, so thrilled to have some images to play with.

I've coloured her with PM's and a bit of Sakura Stardust on the wings. The rest of the card is all Stampin' Up!

Cardstock - Bashful Blue
DSPs - Patterns series in Bashful Blue
Ribbon - Chocolate Chip
Sentiment - from the Hostess Level 1 set "Best Yet"
Flowers - cut with XPunch from same DSP.

Very exciting day in Stampin' Up! land as we find out tomorrow what's being retired from this year's catty and get the chance to pre-order some sets from the new catty being launched 1 October - so watch this space for details and remember you can always order any SU goodies from me!

Doodle Palace Sneak Peek

This is my first card for Doodle Palace using one of the new stamps being released tomorrow. This is Trixie Dog, in her Witchie hat, which I thought was really cute.

Now Halloween is nowhere near a big a celebration here in the UK as it is over in the States, so I can honestly say this is my very first Halloween Card I've ever made! Which meant I didn't have any Halloween papers in my stash but did have this digi-layout from Shabby Princess which I've used as the background for my card. I've gone around the layers with a Grey ProMarker, to give them some depth and have stuck my image on using SU! Dimensionals to lift it off the page and coloured it with ProMarkers. So a very quick and easy card!

Please pop along to Doodle Palace, to have a look at the new stamps, which are being released tomorrow.

There's Magic in the Air - Be Inspired

TMITA provided this oh so cute digi-stamp for free along with an inspirational picture to use this week, which I used for the colours.

I've coloured my little duck, who's called Elvis by the way, with ProMarkers and used a white opaque pen to make the dots on his welly boots. The background papers and sentiment are all digi-papers from Two Peas in a Bucket, from a collection called Splish Splash, which I thought rather appropriate and the colours worked too! The cardstock is Stampin' Up! Barely Banana and I've based my layout on one of Vee's sketches, which you can find on her blog Vee's Sketch Pad

The card came together really quickly, just a shame my printer decided to play up & getting the papers printed out (in the right colours) took about an hour!

I'm a Doodle Palace Princess!!!!

Whoop, whoop - I told you I was on a roll, I have been invited to join the new DT over at Doodle Palace - how thrilled am I. When I read the email, I was just jumping all over the place, it's such a thrill when someone likes your work, I'm really not a very confident crafter, I always compare my work to others and never thinks mine quite matches up, so to get this third DT call is just amazing and a real boost.

For those of you that don't know, Doodle Palace design and sell their own fab digi-stamps, and as I'm a real lover of all things digi, I'm really going to enjoy working with their designs and hope you can all come over & visit me at the "Palace" LOL and join in with our challenges.

Toodle pip for now!

Stamp With Us - Recipe Challenge

A recipe challenge this week at Stamp With Us - 1 patterned paper, 1 coloured cardstock, 1 flower & three brads and this is what I've come up with. A very simple card using one of my favourite SU! sets - Pick a Petal, only this time I've made a different shape flower rather than the usual five-point style.

All Stampin' Up! (except the brads - from my stash)
Stamp sets - Pick a Petal, Stem Sayings
Cardstock - Old Olive
DSP - Haiku

I'm not sure about this card, I still feel something's missing - hmmmmm!

Charisma # 34 - Scrap It!

Our challenge over at Charisma this week is "Scrap It" and we want to see those scrapbook pages. Scrapbooking is one of things on my "to do" list that I never seem to get around to, so this was a good challenge for me to finally get me going. As I have so many digi-papers & embellishments I thought I'd try a digi-page and at least that way if I messed it up I wouldn't be wasting anything and this is the result.

The picture is of my darling girlie about 6 years ago, with her Santa hat on, we took a whole load of photos of her messing about & this one was done right at the end, when she was tired & she just looks like she's thinking "c'mon Santa, hurry up!" so that gave me the idea for the title.

Background paper - Two Peas in a Bucket "Be Merry"
Frame - ScrapGirls "Elegant Frames"
Ribbon & Snowflake - The Little Scrap Garden "So Cold"
Tag - Two Peas in a Bucket "Berry Christmas"

Hope you can join us this week, looking forward to seeing all the lovely pics.

Willow Sketchie Challenge

I love Willow Sketchie's very cute owl & bought myself a couple of their new Christmas digi-stamps today and have just made this card to enter into this week's sketch challenge. I've coloured the image with Stampin' Up! markers as I'd printed the image out a bit too small & there was no way I was getting into the teeny weeny areas with my PM's! I used two strips of ribbon on the side as one looked a bit lost and I've made the "buttons" using a Cuttlebug embossing folder & cut out the snowflake circles. The flourish around the sentiment is from the SU! stamp set "Frames with a Flourish" which I don't use very often, but as I had a bit of space to fill I've stamped it onto Real Red c/s with Real Red ink & just cut around the edges.

Stamps - Willow Sketchie digi stamp, SU! Circle of Friendship, SU! Frames with a Flourish
SU! Markers - Real Red; Garden Green; Close to Cocoa; Creamy Caramel
DSP - Here A Scrap digi papers
Cardstock - SU! Whisper White; Real Red
Ribbons - sticky ribbons from stash
Also used - Cuttlebug embossing folder, Cosmic Shimmer paint on fur on stocking & hat and Diamond Glaze on eyes

Not a good photo I'm afraid as it's a really dull, dark day, I took it in the porch but the light is just awful!

Julie's Amazing Candy

Just wanted to let you all know about an amazing candy Julie is giving away on her blog Julie's Open Window - click here to pop over & check it out!!!

Charisma DT Challenge

This is my card for the DT Challenge Carly has set for us over at Charisma this month - to make up a pop-up card. I've never done one before so enjoyed giving this a go. I've used SU card in the middle to make the pop-up section so the finished card is a bit thick, think I'll use a thinner card next time, but still pleased with the result and that the pop-up does in fact pop-up!

The image is another sneak peek of one of the new Nutshells stamps coming out soon, which I've coloured with ProMarkers and used a bit of Cosmic Shimmer paint on the snail's shell.

DSPs - Stampin' Up! Haiku
Cardstock - SU! Whisper White & Barely Banana
Sentiment - SU! Circle of Friendship
Flowers - cut with X-Cut punch & added some bling from stash.

The pop-out I've made on the CraftRobo, getting on really well with this now, and added a lady-bird from the same Nutshells set (don't tell anyone but I dropped an ink pad on the cut-out and needed it to cover the blob I left!! I'm such a messy crafter, it's really annoying!)

3 in 1 card

I'm entering this little cutie into three challenges this week, I've used the sketch from All that Scraps Blog and combined it with Stampin for the Weekend's colour theme of pink & grey, along with One Stop Craft's theme of Angels or Fairies.

The stamp is one of CC Design's Swiss Pixies (I just love these images) which I've coloured with ProMarkers and added some glitter onto her wings (so now I'm all sparkly too & will be finding glitter in all sorts of places!!). The papers are Papermania, the cardstock is SU! Pixie Pink, the sentiment is an old clear stamp I've had for ages & the buttons, flowers & bling are all from my stash.

Ink - Pixie Pink, Real Red

DSPs - Sweet Always

The sun's shining, so I'm off for a sit in the garden with an ice-cream!

Get Bright & Funky!

This is my card for Get Funky's August challenge, which was a sketch. In real life it's really bright and zingy but the pic's a little subdued.

I've been lent a CraftRoo to have a play with it as the lady who owns it is getting rid of it & kindly let me have a "try before you buy", I'm not the most patient of people and I nearly gave up before I began as the disk wouldn't even load on my computer and the instruction booklet is not the most user friendly I've come across. However I persevered and am glad I did as I'm starting to get some great results now and the "hello" on this card has been cut using the Robo. As well as cutting out words, it can also cut around an image and I just have to show you what I did last night. I printed out a coloured digi-stamp from Bee Crafty and then got the Robo to cut it out and if you look closely I hope you can see how amazing the cut is and it's even cut out the balloon string! I've taken the pic on my hand so you can see how small it is - I could never, ever cut that out by hand, I was well impressed!

Anyway, back to the card, here's the recipe:

Papers - All FunkyHand from the Funky Seasons CD
C/stock - Stampin' Up! Yoyo Yellow & Whisper White
Flower & button - from my stash

Stampacular Sunday No. 20

This is my entry for this week's Stampacular Sunday Challenge "Beary Special", which has to feature stamping & a bear. I've used a Joanna Sheen stamp I've had for ages & never used, so it was nice to get that out and I've paper-pieced the dress as I felt she'd be the sort of bear who'd be wearing a flowery dress rather than just a plain one-colour one (am I thinking about this too much!!). I've embossed the card stock using a Cuttlebug embossing folder & sanded over the Happy Birthday and the edges of the oval to highlight the words a bit more, haven't tried that before so was quite pleased with the result. It looks a bit wonky, but that is just the photo as it's been done with my phone as hubby has got the camera in work!

Recipe:
Stamp - Joanna Sheen
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Pens - ProMarkers
DSPs - Pebble Ink (orange); Stampin; Up! from the set Sweet Always (orange & white)
C/Stock - SU! Chocolate Chip
Ribbon - SU! Chocolate Chip
Flowers - X-Cut Punch and bling from stash
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, Nestabilities Ovals

Charisma # 32 & Carol's Fun Sketch

It's Charisma Challenge Day again, this week has flown by & I only got my card done yesterday afternoon as I've been a day behind all week & thought it was Tuesday!!

Anyway, this is my DT card for this week, which is a lovely inspirational picture to use courtesy of Carly. We're sponsored this week by All that Scraps so I hope you can join us this week.

I've used Carol's Fun Sketch for the l/out of my card, so am entering it in her challenge and the gorgeous image is one of the very new Nutshells stamps coming soon that I was lucky enough to be sent (with a whole load more of gorgeous fairy stamps, so keep watching!) as part of my August GDT at Nutshells.

I've coloured Coco with ProMarkers; the DSP's are Stampin' Up! from Tea Party; the stars are stamped with Pretty in Pink ink and are from the SU! set "In the Stars"; c/s SU! Pretty in Pink; ribbon & flowers are from my stash.

C.R.A.F.T. Challenge # 12

This is my card for this week's CRAFT Challenge, which was a great sketch. I'm not sure if this is a bit too busy with the background paper but I thought it would go well with the little bird stamp which I picked up last week for only 99p and is one of the new My Mind's Eye stamps. I've inked it up with Stampin' Up! markers as it's a solid stamp and I wanted some different colours on it, I've used Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie & Ruby Red, which co-ordinated well with the papers, the two swirls on the side are from an old stamp set I've had for years (and never used!), it was just a little border stamp.

The DSP is "We are Memory Keepers", the sentiment is Stampin' Up! from the set "Cheer & Wishes" inked up with SU Chocolate Chip, c/s - SU Old Olive & Pumpkin Pie & the orange ribbon is from my stash, but originally was the hanging labels on a T-shirt I bought & cut out (knew it would come in handy one day!)

Lovely Awards

I've been very spoilt recently and received some awards from some fab & wonderful bloggers.

The first is from Lisa at Allissa Designs Cabin and she made this lovely award for her friends, which is just the nicest thing to do - thanks so much Lisa for thinking of me and including me in your circle of friends.

The second two are from Sara, who is a fantastic Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, she makes the most amazing projects and for her to thank me for inspiration just blew me away as it's so the other way!

Thank you both so much, it's really lovely to be thought of

A Passion For Papertrey #11

This is my card for this week's challenge over at A Passion for Papertrey which is to make a Thank You card. I only possess a teeny weeny amout of PTI & hate using it LOL but managed to cut into both paper & cardstock for this card! Also quite a challenge for me to do such a simple card, I used a sketch from Clean & Simple and I think I like my card but found it so hard not to keep adding to it - the little button in the corner is an extra to the sketch, but I made a mistake on my line - ssssh!

The petals have been stamped using an SU! stamp from the set Pick A Petal (the little word on the edge says "smile"), DSP is PTI Father Knows Best, c/s PTI Summer Sunrise, the sentiment is SU! Fresh Cuts, button is from my stash & the brad is a Making Memories one. I've drawn the rectangle using a Nestability with an SU marker in Chocolate Chip.

Vee's Sketch Pad

My lovely DT buddy Vee, has set up a new blog sharing some of her wonderful sketches, it's not a challenge blog, although she may offer prizes from time to time, but it's a great place to grab some inspiration. Pop over here for a look.
