A Little Bird Told Me....

Bird of Kindness

it's time for another challenge over at Charisma and this is my DT card, our theme this week is "Animal Magic" which has been set by Allison and it's all about animals, so pop over for a look.

I've used the new gorgeous Extra Large Two-Step Bird Punch from Stampin' Up! it's in the new mini which comes out today - if you'd like a copy just send me an email and I'll send one out to you.

I've stamped on the bird (but not the wing) using another new Mini product, a beautiful stamp set called Vintage Vogue. When we saw this was being released a lot of the SU Demos started hyperventilating, but I wasn't sure it was a set for me, then I saw some of the fantastic, beautiful creations made using this set and completely changed my mind, I can see it becoming a firm favourite. I've also used the small flower stamp and one of the sentiments from the same set. I don't own this Bird Punch (yet) I had a cheeky punch with it at our SU Training Day when it was passed around for us to look at, so my bird is all in one colour but you can punch the wing and the branch out in different coloured cardstock if you like, I coloured my branch in using SU! markers.

The papers are SU! Sweet Always, the punch is one I bought at the NEC last week, ribbon & bling from my stash as is the embossing folder

I'm entering my card in the following challenges:
Totally PaperCrafts - Pink & Green

Hope you can join us again this week

Sorry I'm not getting around to many blogs at the moment, I've not been feeling too good and struggling to get things done at the mo. Normal service, I hope, will be resumed shortly!

Spring has sprung!

Hoppy Easter

Hello, here I am, late again with my Charisma DT card! Not been too bright this week, I've got a frozen shoulder and it's been giving me a lot of pain, I can still craft (phew) but I've just been a bit down with it all. However, had a fab day at the Hobbycrafts show at the NEC yesterday (thanks to Carly who persuaded me to go and took me - thanks hun), spent far too much but I think the retail therapy did me & my flagging mojo good so hopefully now I can get a bit more crafting & blogging done. Apologies to everyone for not visiting you recently, and I will do my best to catch up with everyone over the next week.

Vee has set our challenge for this week and it's "Spring has sprung" and we've been lucky enough to be sponsored by Digistamp Boutique who also gave us some fab images to play with. I love this cute bouncing bunny & chick, which I've coloured with PM's and the sentiment comes from my pal Lisa and was perfect for this card.

Stampin' Up! used on the card:
DSP's - Sweet Always (retired)
Cardstock - Pixie Pink, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White
Pastels - Pumpkin Pie

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
Fab n Funky - Favourite Technique (embossing)
Digital Tuesday - Happy Spring

Hope you can join us this week & TFL xx

Charisma #53 and blog hop winner!

Good morning! Ooh it's a chilly one, hope you're not snowed in wherever you are, we've missed the worst of it in Shropshire and have had some snow but not like the rest of the country, we're still all shivering here though - it's freezing.

Right enough blab and onto the important things, a huge thank you to everyone who took part in our blog hop at Charisma last week, it was a fantastic response and as always we're so grateful for all your support.

The winners of the big prizes have been announed as well as the DT's winners, so hop on over to Charisma for a look, for my candy I used Random Org, which was very easy to use, but I can't work out how to put a picture of the draw on here? So you'll have to trust me!

So - drumroll please - my winner is no. 91 and that's Becky - whoop, whoop - contact me on my email hun (on my left sidebar) with your address so I can get your prize off you to.

Now onto this week's challenge, Carly has set a colour challenge and wants to see:

Pink, Brown, Toffee & Cream

So over to you & lets see some more fab work!

My card is all Stampin' Up! made yesterday when Carly came over for a Crafty get-together as she's about to move and all her craft stuff is packed up - poor girl was desperate, I couldn't ignore her anguish! LOL.

Recipe:
Stamp Set - Hello Again
Markers - Pixie Pink; Summer Sun; Garden Green, Chocolate Chip
Cardstock - Chocolate Chip; Creamy Caramel, Very Vanilla
DSPs - Sweet Always (retired)
Ribbon - Chocolate Chip

Charisma #50 - 2 week challenge

Good morning! Is it me or is it freezing? I'm so cold this morning, but we've not got snow forecast here in Shropshire.

So it's our last challenge before Christmas over at Charisma as we're making this one last for two weeks, it was my turn to set the challenge and I decided to go for -

"Anything but Christmas"

I don't know about you, but I'm just about Christmased-out with all the cards I've made, so it was really nice to do something different.

No apologies (apart from Lyn if you're reading this!) but I've gone all out pink & girly with my birthday card and I'm so used to spreading glitter around my craft room, that despite the "no Christmas" theme I couldn't resist adding some (pink of course) glitter to Anya's hairband and handbag.

Stampin' Up! used:
Sentiment - Fun & Fast Notes
Cardstock - Whisper White; Regal Rose
DSPs - Sweet Always (retired)
SU! markers - Regal Rose; Rose Red; Pretty in Pink; Summer Sun; Creamy Caramel
Word Window Punch

Other:
Stamp - Anya
ProMarkers
Glitter & ribbon from stash

I'm entering my card into 3 challenges:
Get Sketchy - sketch
Anyone for Anya - Bling it on
Totally Gorjuss - Free & Easy

Hope you can join us for our challenge this week & next and we've got some very exciting news at the end of the month - so keep your eyes peeled!

We've also got a DT call on at the moment, so pop over to Charisma for a look

Right, I'm off into town this morning, it's gonna be heaving, so I've sharpened my elbows in preparation!

Charisma - Red, Green & White

Another Christmassy theme for you to get your teeth into over at Charisma this week, although of course it doesn't have to be Christmas but it's ideal to help you get the last (I hope) of your cards made! We really enjoyed all your summer creations last week and I hope you can join us for this challenge too.

I've gone for a simple layout with a very cute Santa, the card's a bit darker IRL, the red looks a bit orangy in this picture.

Stampin' Up! used -
Cardstock - Real Red; Whisper White
Ribbon - Real Red
Word Window Punch
DSP - Rainbow Sherbert

Other items used:
Pebble Ink paper, CC Designs digi stamp, Sentiment from Little Paper Shop

I'm entering the card into two challenges, I heart ProMarkers (as I've used PM's to colour my image in) and their theme this month is Spots and Stripes, and also into DU2DS, who have a theme of red, green plus a neutral.

Got my Thursday morning class this morning, looking forward to seeing my ladies this morning, we're doing non-Christmassy projects today to have a break from it all - although I have got some mince pies to serve up - well it'd be rude not to!

Have a good day!

I'm Dreaming of Summertime

That's the theme over at Charisma this week, so have a break from the Chrissy card making and think Summer - oh flip-flops & sunglasses, I remember you!

I wanted to use a summer image on my card & also summery colours, and found these lovely yellow & brown digi papers from Summertime Designs. My cardstock is SU! Whisper White & Chocolate Chip, the sentiment is from my very talented friend Lisa and I've just added some SU! chalks to colour it and the sunflower chipboard is from my stash.

I'm also entering my card into the Anyone for Anya challenge as I've used their lovely sketch.

Our theme this week was set by DT member Karen, who sadly has had to step down from the DT, we'll all miss you hun & sorry you're leaving us, but that means there is a DT call up on the blog, so hop on over for a look. We're a lovely team (even if I do say so myself LOL) so if you fancy applying we'll look forward to hearing from you.

In the meantime have a lovely Sunny day (easy if you're on the other side of the world) but for us UK girls, I think we'll have to pretend - it's raining again!!

DT card for Charisma

Hello there, running a bit late with this post, but first Happy Thanksgiving to all my friends across the pond.

It's Thursday, so time for another challenge over at Charisma and this week the theme is "Anything Christmassy" which gives you plenty of scope and the opportunity to get another Christmas Card made.

I'm also entering my card into Sunday Sketch & Stamp, as I used their lovely sketch & Penny Black's challenge which is Winter Wonderland.

Quite a simple card, but a nice clean sketch to follow & quick & easy to put together (which let's face it is idea at this manic time of the year!)

Details:
Image - Penny Black
Cardstock - Stampin' Up! Whisper White; Bashful Blue; Lovely Lilac
Papers, ribbon & stars - from my stash

Hope you can join in the fun this week, there's a lovely prize up for grabs!

Hello Kitty!

This is my DT card for Charisma this week and ain't it a cutie! Leanne has given us a fab sketch to work with and I put together this very gorgeous Hello Kitty image yesterday, all cut from the Cricut and so putting the actual card together didn't take long at all. I've used digi-papers, which were a freebie (from erm....somewhere!) cut the circle frame with Nesties and the ribbon, bows and gems are all from my stash. Cardstock is Stampin' Up Pretty in Pink, and Kitty is also cut out of SU! cardstock - Pretty in Pink, Real Red, Whisper White & Basic Black. I've used my brand new SU! Window Punch to cut out the tab the gems are on.

I'm also entering this card into Creative Card Crew's Challenge as their theme this week is Ribbon & Gems.

Hope you play along this week - see you there!

As you're reading this I'm hopefully on my way to the NEC!

Charisma Delightful Daisies & Digital Tuesday

Our theme over at Charisma this week is Delightful Daisies, to be interpreted any way you wish and I've gone for this sweet Swiss Pixie sitting in daisies on some daisy themed paper. I've coloured my pixie with SU! markers & PM's and used my new SU! corner punch to round the edges. The papers are digi freebies from Forever Free, the sentiment is SU! from "Stem Sayings" and I've matched up the purple in the dotty papers with SU! Elegant Eggplant cardstock, the gorgeous chipboard daisy is from my stash.

I'm also entering this into Digital Tuesday's challenge (as it's a digi-stamp & papers I've used) where the theme is "Things with Wings" and although they're not very obvious this little pixie does have wings, which I've coloured with a glittery pen.

Hope you can join us at Charisma this week & TFL xx

Charisma & Stamp Something

This is my DT card for this week's challenge over at Charisma and I'm also entering it into Stamp Something's challenge which is "brown plus one colour".

Our challenge this week is to use distressing on your card, so not in my usual style but I really enjoyed giving this one a go. I don't have any distressing inks so I've used some SU! chalks around the edges of the image, sentiment & flower and using my SU! distressing tool (which comes on the Cutter set) I've distressed the edges of the paper and the cardstock the sentiment is on. The image, a Pollycraft stamp, has been coloured with PM & SU! markers and I've paper pieced the dress, the rest is all Stampin' Up! as follows:

Markers - Pumpkin Pie; Creamy Caramel
DSP - Sweet Always (retired)
Sentiment - from Trendy Trees
Cardstock - Chocolate Chip; Whisper White
Buttons - Pumpkin Pie from Earth Elements set

Hope you can join us this week.

Charisma meet Little Paper Shop

Here's my DT card for Charisma this week, which is a recipe set by Sally:

3 papers
3 flowers
1 ribbon
1 charm

I spent an absolute age on my 'puter yesterday afternoon trying to find the right digi-papers to go with my image, and then we had a power cut! So I dug around in my stash, as you do, and found these lovely Christmas papers I bought last year and hardly used, and the rest of the card came together quite easily.

I'm also entering my card into Little Paper Shop's challenge, which this week was to make a Christmas card using non-traditional red & green.

My image is a Sharing Sherbert stamp which I was lucky enough to win and I've coloured her with pm's & a glitter pen. The cardstock is Stampin' Up! Lovely Lilac and Whisper White and the silver ribbon & charm are from my stash. I've made the flowers by cutting out with a punch and then stamping on them in Versamark using one of the swirly stamps from SU! Frames With a Flourish and finished off with some silver brads.

I'm still struggling with lighting for my pics, Kev has made a light box for me, but it's not quite right and now instead of my piccies being too dark they're overexposed and it's made this card look a bit washed out, it's more vibrant in real life. Will try & get an outside photo done instead as the sun's out today!

Hope you can join us over at Charisma again this week.

Charisma Challenge #39

Here we are again, another week flown by and it's time for Charisma Cardz Challenge. Joanne has set the theme this week & it's decoupage. I haven't done any decoupage in ages but found some old decoupage sheets tucked away in my craft room - when I started crafting all I did was decoupage, but then I discovered STAMPING and the rest, as they say is history! Now of course you can decoupage with a stamped image, digi-image, anything you like, but I have a few sheets featuring these lovely characters, called Toreads, and thought it'd be nice to use one of them.

As the main image is quite colourful, rather than add more colours to the card, I've simply put it onto SU! Basic Black cardstock, which I've stamped with an SU! Snow Burst stamp, blinged up with the use of Heat & Stick powder and some Dazzling Diamonds.

We're giving away three prizes this week, Simon Says is sponsoring our main prize and we're lucky enough to be able to give away two discount vouchers courtesy of Handy Hippo.

Pop over to Charisma here for a look at the gorgeous DT cards and join in this week's challenge.

Ta-tah for now x

Charisma Challenge #38 - Get Sporty!

Good morning lovely bloggers, it's Thursday again, where the last week has gone I just don't know!! Anyway, that means it's time for another challenge over at Charisma and the theme this week is Get Sporty which has been set by Vee. This sounded a bit scary at first but it's such a broad theme, so I'm sure, like me, you'll find something in your stash to use. I'm also entering this card over at Die Cut Dreams as their theme this week is Men!

My image is from Sporty Billy by Pink Cat Studios and I've coloured him ProMarkers, a friend gave me this image ages ago & I'd forgotten I had him, I managed to drop some ink on the piece of card next to him, and I don't have another image, so I had to cut around him, but don't tell anyone, and hopefully it looks intentional!! The backing papers came from a CD, I've also had for ages and never use, so it was good to dust that off and I made the rosette myself (which is why it's a bit wonky) but I needed something else to go on the card and this was another of those middle of the night moments I had when I couldn't sleep last night and was mulling over my card! The sentiment is from Stampin' Up! Circle of Friendship set and it's all mounted onto SU! Brilliant Blue cardstock.

Hope you can join in this week, there's a lovely prize donated by our fab owner Carly of some gorgeous digi-stamps by Whimsy Doodles, so pop over here for a look and to see the other fab creations for inspiration by the rest of the DT

TFL xx

Challenge 37 - Flower Power

Hello, it's Challenge Day over at Charisma and this week it's been set by Leanne, and her theme is Flower Power, so looking forward to seeing lots of lovely flowers this week.

For my card I've kept it quite simple, the image is a freebie from TMITA which I thought was really lovely. I was going to enter my card there as well, but forgot I was supposed to be embossing or scoring on the card, so it probably won't qualify now!

I've coloured my flower with ProMarkers, the DSPs are digi-papers from ScrapGirls from a set called New Growth, the cardstock is Stampin' Up! Pixie Pink, the ribbon is from the retiring Fairy Tale originals (reduced by 50%) and the button is also SU - Earth Elements.

Hope you can join us this week & get all flowery!

Challenge 36 - Patchwork

Good morning, it's Thursday, so it must be Charisma Challenge day. It's my turn to set the challenge this week and I've gone for the theme "Patchwork". You can intrepret this how you wish, I was going to cut up small squares for my backing paper, but when I came across this beautiful digi-paper by Summertime Designs, I knew I wanted to use this instead (a lot less fiddly too!). Apologies for the poor photo quality it was so bright and sunny yesterday (amazingly) that I struggled to get a photo that wasn't over exposed! Honestly you can't win sometimes, in real life the yellow is a much richer, golden yellow.

The image is a beautiful Sarah Kay image that I recieved in a swap, which I've coloured with ProMarkers, the sentiment is Stampin' Up! from the set "Simply Said", cardstock SU! Whisper White and Brocade Blue, flowers cut with a X-cut flower punch, brads, ribbon & heart charm all from my stash.

Hope you can all join in this week, we've got a fab prize from Squiggle Stamps who are our sponsors this week.

Charisma DT Challenge

This is my card for the DT Challenge Carly has set for us over at Charisma this month - to make up a pop-up card. I've never done one before so enjoyed giving this a go. I've used SU card in the middle to make the pop-up section so the finished card is a bit thick, think I'll use a thinner card next time, but still pleased with the result and that the pop-up does in fact pop-up!

The image is another sneak peek of one of the new Nutshells stamps coming out soon, which I've coloured with ProMarkers and used a bit of Cosmic Shimmer paint on the snail's shell.

DSPs - Stampin' Up! Haiku
Cardstock - SU! Whisper White & Barely Banana
Sentiment - SU! Circle of Friendship
Flowers - cut with X-Cut punch & added some bling from stash.

The pop-out I've made on the CraftRobo, getting on really well with this now, and added a lady-bird from the same Nutshells set (don't tell anyone but I dropped an ink pad on the cut-out and needed it to cover the blob I left!! I'm such a messy crafter, it's really annoying!)
