Sophisticats DT Card - For a Child
This is my DT card for Sophisticats this week as our theme is "Card for a Child", we're being sponsored by Cardmad Fairy and she very kindly gave us some images to use on our cards, and I used this sweet little girl called Sally, coloured with PM's.
Rest of the card is Stampin' Up! as follows:
Sentiment - Fun & Fast Notes
DSPs - Sweet Always (retired)
Cardstock - Pixie Pink, Whisper White
Eyelet Border punch.
I've made another card for this week's challenge:
Last week at my Stampin' Up! class we made a whole bunch of cute & cuddly animals using SU! punches, some of these were cased from the very talented Julie, including this monkey which I thought would be great to use on a child's card.
Yesterday my two fab and talented SU! downlines Kaz & Loraine came over and we made more of these animals and I borrowed Kaz's Fox & Friends and made this card, using the monkey from the stamp set to do the background, along with the circle from Trendy Trees.
Rest of the details (all SU!)
Monkey - made with various SU! punches and Chocolate Chip & More Mustard cardstock
Stamps - Fox & Friends; Trendy Trees
Ink - Chocolate Chip; More Mustard
Cardstock - Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip
Ribbon - Chocolate Chip
Hope you can join us for our challenge this fortnight & TFL x

Charisma #50 - 2 week challenge

Good morning! Is it me or is it freezing? I'm so cold this morning, but we've not got snow forecast here in Shropshire.
So it's our last challenge before Christmas over at Charisma as we're making this one last for two weeks, it was my turn to set the challenge and I decided to go for -
"Anything but Christmas"
I don't know about you, but I'm just about Christmased-out with all the cards I've made, so it was really nice to do something different.
No apologies (apart from Lyn if you're reading this!) but I've gone all out pink & girly with my birthday card and I'm so used to spreading glitter around my craft room, that despite the "no Christmas" theme I couldn't resist adding some (pink of course) glitter to Anya's hairband and handbag.
Stampin' Up! used:
Sentiment - Fun & Fast Notes
Cardstock - Whisper White; Regal Rose
DSPs - Sweet Always (retired)
SU! markers - Regal Rose; Rose Red; Pretty in Pink; Summer Sun; Creamy Caramel
Word Window Punch
Other:
Stamp - Anya
ProMarkers
Glitter & ribbon from stash
I'm entering my card into 3 challenges:
Get Sketchy - sketch
Anyone for Anya - Bling it on
Totally Gorjuss - Free & Easy
Hope you can join us for our challenge this week & next and we've got some very exciting news at the end of the month - so keep your eyes peeled!
We've also got a DT call on at the moment, so pop over to Charisma for a look
Right, I'm off into town this morning, it's gonna be heaving, so I've sharpened my elbows in preparation!

Sweet Stampin' Challenge No. 3
Good morning, it's bright & sunny here in Shropshire, so let's hope it lasts!Time for another challenge at Sweet Stampin and this week our theme is "Feathered Friends". There's a new prize up for grabs for December & is a fabulous Stampin' Up! Hostess set "Punches Three" and a matching Scallop Square punch - wish I could win as both of these are on my wish list LOL, so it's really worth entering to get your hands on the fab SU! goodies.
Despite the fact I still have a zillion Christmas cards to do, it was nice to make a non-Xmas card for a change and I really enjoyed using the bright and zingy colours on my card, and as my work desk, shelves, craftroom, and me are already covered in glitter I thought I' may as well add some glitter to my little birdies too!
Here's the details:
All SU! unless otherwise stated:
Stamp - Queue Up (Level 3 Hostess Set)
Sentiment - Fun & Fast Notes
SU! Markers - Green Galore; Tempting Turquoise, Apricot Appeal (not sure if the bird colours are that accurate - do you get green birds? But I liked them!)
Cardstock - Green Galore; Apricot Appeal; Whisper White
DSPs - Rainbow Sherbert (retired - sadly!)
Other - Word Window Punch
Gems & Glitter from my stash
Hope you can join us this week & TFL x

Sweet Stampin' Challenge No. 1

It's our first challenge over at Sweet Stampin and the theme is "Celebration" as we're celebrating our first challenge and new DT, you can enter with a card, scrap page, ATC, anything you like as long as it represents some sort of Celebration. You don't have to use Stampin' Up! products on your cards, but if you do, you get two entries into the monthly draw to win some fab SU! goodies - what a great way to get your hands on SU! So I hope you can join us this week.
I've gone for a baby card, and kept it fairly simple as it's a boy card, it's brighter in real life, as I'm still struggling with lighting for taking photo's.
Recipe: All Stampin' Up!
Stamp - Fun & Fast Notes
Coloured with - Watercolour Crayon in Bashful Blue; marker in Chocolate Chip
Ink - Stazon
DSP - Bashful Blue
Cardstock - Bashful Blue; Chocolate Chip
Eyelet Border Punch
I've made the blingy dots, by putting a length of sticky strip on Choc Chip c/s, and adding Dazzling Diamonds, as I didn't have any suitable boy bling!
I'm also adding this card into Annabelle Stamps Challenge as I've used their sketch (which requires the bling!) thought it was a lovely straightforward sketch too, nice & easy to use.
Hope to see you over at Sweet Stampin & TFL xx

There's a great challenge going on over at ILWS it's called the Cinderella Effect as it was set up for all us poor (literally LOL) Demo's who couldn't go the ball this weekend i.e. Stampin' Up! first European Convention, being held in Germany. The second challenge I did was the "Place Names" and I did these fun ones for my family:

Ink & markers - Tempting Turquoise, Brilliant Blue, Orchid Opulence, Lovely Lilac, Only Orange, Pink Passion

Sophisticats Week 5

Week 5 already over at Sophisticats and we've a lovely sketch by Cheryl to follow this week and this is my card.
I've used a stamp by Pink Gem Designs, and I'm going to enter it into the Pink Gem's monthly challenge too. I love the hand drawn quality to this stamp and I coloured it with Stampin' Up! Watercolour crayons to keep the whole effect soft, apart from her crown & wings where I've used a Sakura Stardust pen for a lovely glittery look. The sentiments is from the SU! set "Fun & Fast Notes" and I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to place it on the card. I've used SU! DSPs Sweet Always, which are now sadly retired but I still love 'em, SU! cardstock Pretty in Pink and the bling, charm & chipboard corner are all from my stash. I decorated the inside too as I'd already cut out the Princess die-cut and then realised it was far too big for the outside, so put it on the inside instead!
Hope you can join in this week, there's a gorgeous Robin stamp up for a prize donated by Lisa.

DSPs - Rainbow Sherbert
Stamp - from the set "Birthday Best" I've added some glaze to the icing & then sprinkled glitter onto the glaze, which I think I've overdone a bit - oops.

Lily of the Valley Challenge 31

I used the great sketch over at Lily of the Valley to make this card for my Charisma DT buddy Vee, who's birthday was last week (she's had the card so it's safe to post now!).
I love using squares on my card, don't know what it is, but anything with squares in the background and I'm hooked! Anyway, apart from the flowers, which are Flora Doodles & the button & gems from my stash, the rest is all Stampin' Up!
Cardstock - Chocolate Chip
DSP's - Sweet Always (one of my favourite sets)
Ribbon - Chocolate Chip
Image - Garden Whimsy (another much loved & much used set)
Sentiment - Fun & Fast notes (ditto the above! LOL)
It's not very clear in the photo, but I've stamped the butterfly using Versamark & then added a copper embossing powder (Cosmic Shimmer) and in real life it gave the butterfly a lovely coppery sheen. I was going to glitter the butterfly, stamped it out and then realised I didn't have the right colour glitter - d'uh, so had to act quickly while the Versamark was still sticky and used the embossing powder instead! Pleased with the result though and at least I didn't end up covered in glitter for days, like I usually do when I use the darn stuff!

Digital Tuesday & Papertake Weekly
Well after days of not making much at all, I seem to be on a bit of a roll today, and this card is for two challenges - Digital Tuesday who were asking you to use your scraps (got plenty of those) and Papertake Weekly asking you to use a digital download. The image is a Digi-stamp called Libby from Digi-Stamp Boutique and I've coloured her with ProMarkers and a bit of Sakura Stardust pen on her skirt; the papers are digi-papers from Funky Fairy; the c/s is Stampin' Up! Barely Banana; the ribbon is SU! Whisper White coloured with a Barely Banana marker to match; the sentiment is also SU! from the ever useful set "Fun & Fast Notes" - I use this sentiment a lot as it's nice and slim, and the very sweet little chipboard flower is from my stash.
I seem to have taken the photo at a funny angle as the card looks curved and so does the ribbon, but in reality it is straight - honest!!

Lily of the Valley Challenge 29
Summer Fun was this week's theme which I thought this card would suit. I bought the digi-image this week from Digi-Stamp Boutique, a set of three "Jim" images which will come in very handy for those difficult male cards. I've coloured him with ProMarkers and I've used a Sakura white pen to add highlights but it's come out a bit thicker than I'd like and not as opaque as it's supposed to be, so I'm a bit disappointed with that - back to the drawing board! The rest is all Stampin' Up! the papers are Rainbow Sherbert, the cardstock is Green Galore & Tempting Turquoise and the sentiment is from "Fun & Fast Notes" I use this sentiment a lot as it's quite slim and fits on mosts cards quite easily, really handy.

Stamp Something & Stamp With Us
Two challenges for this Wedding Card, Stamp With Us has a theme of Congratulations and Stamp Something has a Wedding theme, which combined very well.I've gone for a simple and hopefully elegant card, which is a bit different from my usual style but I think it works.
I've used a Stampin' Up! stamp and sentiment from the set "Fun and Fast Notes" which is such a useful set, stamped in gold ink & then embossed with SU clear embossing powder, the cardstock is a lovely pearlised cream colour - not too clear in the pic and I've embossed some of the same cs in my cuttlebug and layered with some gold cs, all from my stash as is the ribbon.

Simon Says Sketch
This is my entry for this weeks Simons Says Challenge, which was a sketch. The image was a freebie from Two Scoops of Rice and I've coloured him with ProMarkers. The papers, cardstock & sentiment are from Stampin' Up, I've used DSP's from the set Rainbow Sherbert, which are really bright and cheerful and matched up the CS with Green Galore. The sentiment is from the set "Fun and Fast notes" and the bling flowers are from my stash.TFL x

Stamp Something - Sketch Challenge

Sometimes a card takes me ages and sometimes it goes together really easily and I'm pleased to say that this one was the latter, I've used all Stampin' Up! and that makes co-ordinating everything just so simple. I chose the image, which is from the set "Fun & Fast Notes", chose the DSP which is from the set "Tea & Crumpets" and took the colours from there. I would never have put these two colours together (Apricot Appeal and Perfect Plum), but they worked in the paper so I added matching cardstock, watercoloured the image with the same, plus Sage Shadow on the leaves and even found a matching eyelet in my Crop-a-dile box (the only non SU element on the card). I put the Apricot Appeal cardstock through my Cuttlebug to add some texture and the sentiment is from the same stamp set as the image.
I'm really pleased with this card and will definately use this colour scheme again, especially as I've just ordered another 4 sets of DSP's from SU, including the Tea & Crumpets one again! Well they are on offer until the end of the month - be rude not to! LOL
The only thing I don't like about this card is the photo, I took 5 in the end and couldn't get it right, the light's just not right today, in real life the purple on the card is a softer plum as is the Apricot, but my daughter assures me the photo is ok & to stop fussing!

Kaboodle Challenge No. 6
This is my entry for this week's sketch challenge over at Kaboodle Blog, using their wonderful Morris Dance papers, which I absolutely love. I've used a Gorjuss girl image from one of the images my friend Sarah-Jane sent me, and I've coloured her with SU! Markers in Not Quite Navy & Old Olive to match the papers, and also Cameo Coral, Pumpkin Pie and Ruby Red. I've watercoloured most of the image, apart from her coat, which is why the blue on the hat is lighter even though it's the same pen, it's quite a nice way to get shades of the same colour. I've also used Not Quite Navy Cardstock and ink on the sentiment, which is from the SU! set "Fun & Fast Notes" to tie it all in together and managed to find some blue gem flowers that matched up with the lighter blue backing paper.I'm also quite pleased with my photo, I took this one on my iPhone, like I do all my photos because it makes it so easy to load onto the computer, but I added an app yesterday to edit photos and I've cropped and sharpened the image on this and I'm really pleased with the result. It also helps that it's bright and sunny here today, for a nice change!

Tinker & Co May Challenge + DT Call

Tinker & Co's freebie papers for May are called Strawberry Sundae - yum! Make a project using the freebie papers and you could win a gorgeous exclusive download kit that's not available to buy. They're also looking for 4 members to join their DT so pop on over & have a look. This is my entry and I've used two of the papers along with some SU! Chocolate Chip cardstock. The image is SU! from the set "Birthday Best" and I've coloured it with SU! markers Creamy Caramel; Regal Rose and Summer Sun and layered up using Nesties scalloped circles. The sentiment is also SU! from the set "Fun & Fast Notes" and inked up with a Rose Red marker. The felt ribbon is recycled from a toiletries gift set my daughter had (and was about to throw out when I "rescued" it) and the little gems are from my stash. For the insert I've used a bit more of the paper & the sentiment is also from "Birthday Best"

Just Magnolia - Challenge No. 1

Just Magnolia is a new challenge blog with a fantastic prize for the winner of the first challenge, so I thought I'd give it a go, although at the time of posting this I'm entry no. 295 - eek! It's proving rather popular then! Oh well, I love my Tilda stamps even though I only have a few and this is my favourite one, I've got a friend's birthday coming up next week and I'm sure she'll like this card.
I've used Stampin' Up! Watercolour Crayons for most of the image and SU Markers on her shoes, buttons & flower headband: Pretty in Pink; Perfect Plum; Barely Banana; Garden Green; Cameo Coral and Chocolate Chip. The cardstock is SU Perfect Plum & the DSP's are also SU from the gorgeous "Sweet Always" set. The sentiment is from the SU set "Fun & Fast Notes" and the flowers are Making Memories.

Stampacular Sunday - For The Birds
Challenge No. 2 over at Stampacular Sunday was called "For the Birds" and had to feature stamping and a bird somewhere on the project, so I fufilled both criteria by stamping a little bird. He comes from the SU stamp set "Fun & Fast Notes" and I've coloured him with SU Stampin' Write markers - Not Quite Navy; Cameo Coral and Garden Green. The DP's are also SU from the set Tea Party and the flower embellishment is from my stash (don't know the make sorry).
