Charisma & Stamp Something

Our challenge this week is to use distressing on your card, so not in my usual style but I really enjoyed giving this one a go. I don't have any distressing inks so I've used some SU! chalks around the edges of the image, sentiment & flower and using my SU! distressing tool (which comes on the Cutter set) I've distressed the edges of the paper and the cardstock the sentiment is on. The image, a Pollycraft stamp, has been coloured with PM & SU! markers and I've paper pieced the dress, the rest is all Stampin' Up! as follows:
Markers - Pumpkin Pie; Creamy Caramel
DSP - Sweet Always (retired)
Sentiment - from Trendy Trees
Cardstock - Chocolate Chip; Whisper White
Buttons - Pumpkin Pie from Earth Elements set

New Nutshells stamp for 3 Challenges

I was honoured to be asked to be a Guest Designer for Nutshells during August and they sent me a couple of their new, soon to be released scenery stamps, which are lovely. I've used the Fashion Boutique one for this card, which I'm entering into three challenges:
Stamp Something - Paper Piece
Die Cut Dreams - Fashion Frenzy
Crafty Creations - Buttons
I've coloured the image with ProMarkers and have paper pieced the two dresses, the ribbon on the 2nd dress has been coloured with a Sakura Moondust pen and I've used some chalk to colour the background as it looked a bit white without it (I masked the door, window & shop sign first)
The DSP's are digital papers from "Two Peas in a Bucket", the cardstock is Stampin' Up! Taken with Teal & the buttons are from my stash.

Stamp Something & Stamp With Us

I've gone for a simple and hopefully elegant card, which is a bit different from my usual style but I think it works.
I've used a Stampin' Up! stamp and sentiment from the set "Fun and Fast Notes" which is such a useful set, stamped in gold ink & then embossed with SU clear embossing powder, the cardstock is a lovely pearlised cream colour - not too clear in the pic and I've embossed some of the same cs in my cuttlebug and layered with some gold cs, all from my stash as is the ribbon.

Stamp Something - Sketch Challenge

Sometimes a card takes me ages and sometimes it goes together really easily and I'm pleased to say that this one was the latter, I've used all Stampin' Up! and that makes co-ordinating everything just so simple. I chose the image, which is from the set "Fun & Fast Notes", chose the DSP which is from the set "Tea & Crumpets" and took the colours from there. I would never have put these two colours together (Apricot Appeal and Perfect Plum), but they worked in the paper so I added matching cardstock, watercoloured the image with the same, plus Sage Shadow on the leaves and even found a matching eyelet in my Crop-a-dile box (the only non SU element on the card). I put the Apricot Appeal cardstock through my Cuttlebug to add some texture and the sentiment is from the same stamp set as the image.
I'm really pleased with this card and will definately use this colour scheme again, especially as I've just ordered another 4 sets of DSP's from SU, including the Tea & Crumpets one again! Well they are on offer until the end of the month - be rude not to! LOL
The only thing I don't like about this card is the photo, I took 5 in the end and couldn't get it right, the light's just not right today, in real life the purple on the card is a softer plum as is the Apricot, but my daughter assures me the photo is ok & to stop fussing!

Miss Anya for 2 Challenges

I was very lucky to be sent some gorgeous stamped images from a very lovely SU Demo called Sarah-Jane, she knew I wanted to get my hands on some Gorjuss Girl stamps and offered to stamp some out for me and also included a few Miss Anya's too - how generous is that. So I've been dying to use one of the images and the Challenge over at Stamp Something this week is for a Pink Birthday Card and I decided to use one of the Miss Anya Stamps. The layout is taken from this week's Charisma Cardz Sketch Challenge, which I really liked, I haven't done a DL card for ages and it made a nice change.
Apart from the image and the two little gems I've used all Stampin' Up! products throughout:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Pretty in Pink
DSPs: all from the set "Tea Party" including the flower which has been cut out of one of the papers
Coloured with Watercolour Crayons: Pretty in Pink, Barely Banana, Apricot Appeal, Blush Blossom, Perfect Plum, Sage Shadow, Certainly Celery
Sentiment: From the Hostess Gift set "Best Yet"
It's a dull day here today, so it's an indoor picture under a bright light and is a bit paler than in real life.

Bee Happy

Made this cute little card and found it fits 3 challenges, so that's a bonus!
DU2DS - are asking for "Things with Wings"
Digital Tuesday - are asking for Showers or Flowers
Stamp Something - also asking for Shower or Flowers
This cute little fella is a freebie from Dustin Pike and I've coloured him with a variety of medium, it took two attempts as I just couldn't get him right! Who would have thought colouring in a bumble bee would be so hard?! Anyway, I've used pencils for his body, Sakura glaze pens for his umberella, boots and water, a Sakura Stardust pen for his glittery wings and my brand new Promarkers, which I bought yesterday and just love, for his face.
The papers are from Here's a Scrap as are the embellishments

Stamp Something - Yellow, Green & Blue

The gorgeous BP came from a free download I received from Kaboodle Doodles for a challenge entry, the set I chose is called Morris Dance, I fell in love with this paper and wanted to use it straight away and knew I could fit it in with this challenge. The stamp is from an SU Hostess Set called "A Little Bit of Happiness" & I've coloured it in with SU markers Not Quity Navy; Summer Sun; Old Olive & Garden Green and the cardstock is also SU in Whisper White, Not Quite Navy and Summer Sun.
I've used a Cuttlebug embossing folder on some Not Quite Navy cardstock to place behind the image and the buttons are from my stash.
I had a funny sort of weekend and a bit of a confidence crisis, just wasn't pleased with anything I was making and feeling completely uninspired, so it was really lovely to get an injection of inspiration & motivation from this gorgeous paper and I'm glad to say I'm really pleased with the finished card too - phew!!

An Easter card for two challenges

This cute little fella is called Warren & was a free digi-stamp from Tinker & Co as were the papers and I can use him for two challenges this week.
The first for the new Dare You 2 Digi stamp challenge blog was a sketch and the second challenge I'm entering the card for is Stamp Something's Thursday challenge which was to make a Happy Easter card.
I've cut out Warren and put him on some SU cardstock - Chocolate Chip, with silicon for a 3D effect, the papers are also from Tinker & Co & the ribbon is from my stash. I've printed the sentiment from my computer as I didn't have a suitable stamp.
I think I'll be posting this one off today to my Sister-in-law for Easter as I think she'll like it.
