ILWS Cinderella Effect

There's a great challenge going on over at ILWS it's called the Cinderella Effect as it was set up for all us poor (literally LOL) Demo's who couldn't go the ball this weekend i.e. Stampin' Up! first European Convention, being held in Germany. So to give us all something to do (it's also open for non-Demo's too) there a whole load of challenges going on, 6 for yesterday, 6 today and one biggie which finishes tomorrow. Hop over for a look.

I managed to enter three challenges yesterday, the card above was for the "Modern Winter Card" challenge.

Recipe: (all SU!)
Stamp - Snowburst
Sentiment - Best Yet
Cardstock - Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White
Ink - Tempting Turquoise
Circle Punch
Other - bling from stash, embossing folder

The second challenge I did was the "Place Names" and I did these fun ones for my family:

Recipe:
Stamps - All in the Family, Seeing Spots
Cardstock - Tempting Turquoise, Orchid Opulence, Only Orange
Ink & markers - Tempting Turquoise, Brilliant Blue, Orchid Opulence, Lovely Lilac, Only Orange, Pink Passion
Punch - Window Punch
Other - letters cut on CraftRobo

And the third challenge I did was a jewellery one with added bling, so I used Fun & Fast notes on Shrink Plastic, coloured with glittery pens & made them into earrings

Had great fun and time, long time since I've done so much crafting in one day and time permitting, hope to do a couple today.

A girlie Christmas Card for 2 Challenges

Second post today, but it makes up for not doing one yesterday as I was out all day.

Bit of different Christmas card, but it's nice to be different sometimes.

I've followed one of Vee's sketches from her Sketchpad blog, if you haven't been over I can thoroughly recommend it, she does some fab sketches which are great to follow if you're struggling for a layout plus this week she's giving away a lovely prize too - so hop on over here for a look!

The image is a digi from Your Special Delivery and I just loved the idea of a ballerina snow-woman, they have a new challenge blog launched and the image was free. I've coloured her with pm's and watercoloured the skirt using SU! crayons, the two little stars are stamped out with SU! Snow Burst stamps, and I've then gone over the dots with the new glue pen & dipped into Dazzling Diamonds. I've also used a sparkly pen to go over some of the main image & the backing papers, but that doesn't show up too well on the piccie. The sentiment is SU! from the retired hostess set Best Yet and I've added a bit of sticky ribbon from my stash.

Going purple for Papertrey

I don't normally "do" purple, I don't dislike it, but it never seems to jump out at me. However I recently won some precious Papertrey Ink papers and they're all purple, so that seemed a good a reason as any to go purple!

The challenge over at PTI is a birthday one, and although I haven't put a birthday sentiment on the front of the card, it could be used for a birthday (ok, I'll come clean - I forgot about the birthday bit until I'd stuck the sentiment on the front - so I'm hoping it will still be allowed!).

It's my first Sugar Nellie too, my friend Carly stamped some images for me and this was among them, I think she's gorgeous, so thanks again Carly.

Recipe:
Stamp - Sugar Nellie
Sentiment - Stampin' Up! Best Yet
DSP's - Guidelines by Papertrey Ink
Cardstock - Stampin' Up! Perfect Plum
Flower & bling - from my stash.

HouseMouse Challenge #52

This is my entry for the HouseMouse Challenge, which is celebrating a year of challenges and you can choose any of the previous challenges as your theme for this one. I went for No. 32 which was Something Sweet as I had this lovely image from my friend Carly and it certainly fits the theme.

For a change I've watercoloured the image using SU! Watercolour Crayons, and I've used SU! DSPs Tea & Crumpets and matched it with SU! cardstock Always Artichoke. The sentiment is SU! "Best Yet" a Level 1 hostess set and the ribbon is actually Very Vanilla coloured with an Always Artichoke marker to match. The button is from my stash.

A sneaky peak & a goodbye

I finally got around to playing with my new SU! stash from the catty coming out on October 1 and made this card this afternoon. The stamp is from the set "Queue Up" and is a Level 3 hostess gift, so free with a qualify workshop/order. The whole set is gorgeous and I'll be showing more from this set over the next week.

I've coloured the mushrooms with a SU! markers; the cardstock is More Mustard and the button is from the Earth Element collection. The DSP is from the set Haiku, which is retiring at the end of this month, which I think is a shame, it's a lovely set, with gorgeous Autumnal colours and I really like it - so if anyone wants to get on their hands on some before it disappears for ever, then just let me know and I can put an order in for you. The sentiment is also retiring at the end of the month and is from a Level 1 hostess set "Best Yet", I'm keeping this despite it retiring as it's a lovely set of sentiments.

Hope you like the card, I've kept it quite clean and simple, and hopefully I'll have another sneaky peek to show you tomorrow.

Get Sketchy #3

I've used the sketch over at Get Sketchy for this card and the gorgeous Hanglar image is one of a pile of lovely stamped images I won recently in a candy from Tilde, I just love the Hanglar stamps, so thrilled to have some images to play with.

I've coloured her with PM's and a bit of Sakura Stardust on the wings. The rest of the card is all Stampin' Up!

Cardstock - Bashful Blue
DSPs - Patterns series in Bashful Blue
Ribbon - Chocolate Chip
Sentiment - from the Hostess Level 1 set "Best Yet"
Flowers - cut with XPunch from same DSP.

Very exciting day in Stampin' Up! land as we find out tomorrow what's being retired from this year's catty and get the chance to pre-order some sets from the new catty being launched 1 October - so watch this space for details and remember you can always order any SU goodies from me!

Today's Stampin' Up! Class and a Challenge

This is the card & gift box we made in my Stampin' Up! class today, everyone seemed to enjoy it & the time flew.  One of the things I really enjoy about holding these classes is being able to craft with other lovely ladies as I'm usually crafting away in my little room all by myself, so much nicer to be able to chat, laugh, swap ideas and eat yummy muffins with some other crafty ladies.

All made with SU products

Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, Whisper White
DSPs: from the set Tea & Crumpets
Images & sentiments: "Garden Whimsy" and the Hostess Set "Best Yet"
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Ribbon: Whisper White

The Challenge over at One Stop Craft Challenge this week is a colour one of Pink & Brown, so I think this card & box fit the bill perfectly.

Miss Anya for 2 Challenges

I was very lucky to be sent some gorgeous stamped images from a very lovely SU Demo called Sarah-Jane, she knew I wanted to get my hands on some Gorjuss Girl stamps and offered to stamp some out for me and also included a few Miss Anya's too - how generous is that.  So I've been dying to use one of the images and the Challenge over at Stamp Something this week is for a Pink Birthday Card and I decided to use one of the Miss Anya Stamps.  The layout is taken from this week's  Charisma Cardz Sketch Challenge, which I really liked, I haven't done a DL card for ages and it made a nice change.

Apart from the image and the two little gems I've used all Stampin' Up! products throughout:

Cardstock: Whisper White, Pretty in Pink
DSPs: all from the set "Tea Party" including the flower which has been cut out of one of the papers
Coloured with Watercolour Crayons: Pretty in Pink, Barely Banana, Apricot Appeal, Blush Blossom, Perfect Plum, Sage Shadow, Certainly Celery
Sentiment: From the Hostess Gift set "Best Yet"

It's a dull day here today, so it's an indoor picture under a bright light and is a bit paler than in real life.

Bee Crafty - Challenge No. 3

Sometimes I amaze myself - at my stupidity.  I made a card for Bee's challenge this week, went over and posted a link to the post containing my card, before I'd even posted it on here! D'uh? I posted a link to a different card of course & was lucky that Bee took the time to come over & leave a very polite comment telling me she couldn't find it, not surprising as I hadn't posted it at the time!

So here, without further ado, is that card!

The image is one of Bee's and it's a freebie (gotta love a freebie) which I've coloured with Stampin' Up! markers in Chocolate Chip, Regal Rose & So Saffron (which has been watercoloured to make the pale cake filling) yum!! The sentiment is also SU from the Hostess Set "Best Yet" and the gorgeous papers are downloads from Kaboodle Doodles.  The cardstock is SU Chocolate Chip & Whisper White. I've put some Diamond Glaze on the icing to make it look glossy and the brad is from my stash.

Right, I'm now going over to Bee's blog to post the correct link!
