Polka Doodles Challenge

This is my entry for last week's Polka Doodles challenge, which doesn't end until Sunday so I'm still in in time. I spent ages thinking about this card, just couldn't decide on the image/theme to use and then decided to combine it with another challenge and use a digi-image. Spent an age trawling through my images and couldn't find the right one, so then decided to buy one, spent another hour or so trawling all my favourite sites and finally chose a sweet Christmas mouse, bought it, downloaded it, went to print it out & my printer decided not to work - aaaargh!

So plan B was called for, went into my craft room, decided to go Stampin' Up! and made the card in about 15 minutes, sometimes I wonder why do I make it so hard for myself!!

Apart from the buttons then it's all SU! in one of my favourite colour combo's pink & brown:

Recipe:
Stamps - Garden Whimsy and Circle of Friendship
DSP - from Sweet Always
Ink - Chocolate Chip
Cardstock - Chocolate Chip & Whisper White
Ribbon - Chocolate Chip

Charisma # 30 - Sketch Challenge

Morning all, it's challenge time over at Charisma again, and this week we've got a lovely sketch by Joanne to follow. We're being sponsored by Pink Gem & they are giving away this lovely stamp as a prize, so hop on over to Charisma to join in.

I've used all Stampin' Up! on my card, except for the flower, which is from K&Co & the little diamante bling is from my stash.

Recipe:

Cardstock - Green Galore, Whisper White
DSPs - Rainbow Sherbert
Stamp - from the set "Birthday Best" I've added some glaze to the icing & then sprinkled glitter onto the glaze, which I think I've overdone a bit - oops.
Sentiment - from the set "Fun & Fast Notes"

Hope you'll join us this week

Victoria Case Challenge No. 9

This is my entry for Victoria Case challenge this week, which was a sketch. I've used a VC freebie image - Bunnyfly & coloured it with PM's and a Sakura Stardust pen to add the sparkle to the wings. The backing paper is a freebie from Fred She Said and the sentiment is from Stampin' Up! set "Birthday Best" and the c/s is also SU! Pink Passion.

It's actually a bit brighter in real life, but it's such a dull day here it was hard to get any decent light to take the photo in! Good old British summer eh!

Creative Card Crew 20 & FunkyFairies 26

Close up so you can see the polka dots on the pink paper:

Two challenges with this card, the theme over at Creative Card Crew this week is Polka Dots (love polka dots) and at FunkyFairies it's a girly theme.

The image is Anna, from Anna & Bella stamps by Gina - you can see the blog here and I've coloured her with PM's - I think she's very sweet dressed up in her mum's shoes & make-up. The papers are all from FunkyFairies ShabbyChic set and I've layered them with Stampin' Up! Gable Green cardstock, flower embellies & spotty ribbon from my stash, & the swirly flower is a K&Co sticker.

The photo's come out a bit dark, in real life it's a lot lighter & brighter!

Midnight Madness & Mo's Digital Pencil

I recently came across this blog - Mo's Digital Pencil and she is a very talented artist selling her sketches on Etsy. She gave out this brilliant sketch - Harvest Dance recently and I've been dying to use it, although was worried I wouldn't do it justice! I've coloured the image with my Stampin' Up! markers, using mostly the Earth Element set to keep an Autumn theme throughout the card, and matched it with the DSPs - Haiku & buttons (all SU!) and SU c/s in Old Olive & More Mustard. The flower & wire on the top of the picture are from my stash & I've followed the sketch over at Midnight Madness so I can enter the card in their challenge.

I've got a couple more of Mo's sketches so keep watching as I'll be using them soon for sure.

Fred She Said meets Little Paper Shop

My missing mojo seems to have returned after a three day break - think it went away for it's hols, didn't even send me a postcard - sniff!

Anyway, made a card this afternoon following the sketch at Little Paper Shop & the gorgeous freebie from Fred She Said, which is the first thing I've made in days.

I've coloured the image with PM's and a bit of chalk underneath the pot (it's not a dirty smudge) and used Stampin' Up! for the rest - cardstock Always Artichoke & Pretty in Pink, matching DSP's from the set Tea & Crumpets. The sentiment is from the set "Simply Said" and I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to link it up across the centre of the heart. Photo's a bit wonky, but the card is straight in real life!

Some birthday goodies for a couple of challenges

It was my lovely Charisma DT buddy Carly's birthday this week & I made her a couple of things which I'm entering for a couple of challenges.

First of all her card, I used the sketch over at Carol's Fun Sketch challenge which I really liked the look of. The card had to have some pink on it, cos Carly loves pink & I wanted to use an image she doesn't have (not an easy task, this woman has some serious stash!!). So I used a digi-stamp from Pink Petticoat and added the sentiment myself on the 'puter before printing it out, same with the Happy Bird-day sentiment too. The DSPs are Stampin' Up! from the set "Tea Party" and the c/s is SU! Pretty in Pink, flower & button from my stash.

Next I made her a birthday book using a template from Papertrey which I'm entering into the latest challenge at A Passion for Papertrey.

The templates are really easy to use and you get some nice ideas with them, I went for the birthday book idea as I thought it would come in handy, but Carly can use it for something else if she prefers. I've used the same SU c/s & DSP as on the card, so it all ties in together and a bit of ribbon from my stash. Although I have to say all that measuring & scoring was quite a challenge for me, as it's definitely not my forte, but I was very pleased with the result and will be making one of these again for sure!

New Challenge Blog & Candy

There's a new challenge blog in town and they're offering a fab candy for their launch on 15th Auguest. Pop over to their blog here for a look.

A Thank You award & a lovely Blog award

Aren't bloggers just the best, everyone I've met on here is so lovely & generous & I've made some real friends.

I've had another lovely award from Vee, who is one of my fellow DT members over at Charisma, you can see her fab blog here. Thank you Vee for thinking of me.

The second is from Carly, who is the owner of the Charisma Challenge blog & we discovered by chance we live only a few miles apart! She's really lovely & very creative (and oh so young - sigh!) and it was her birthday on Friday and she made this lovely award to thank everyone who had sent her a little birthday something - how thoughtful is that. Her blog is here.

Thanks both, it's so nice to be thought of

Charisma # 29 - Tag It!

This is my DT card for the challenge over at Charisma this week, which has been set by Vee. We're being sponsored this week by:

They're offering a £15 voucher to spend at their online store, so hop on over to Charisma & play along with us this week.

I decided to make a tag card and used my four little ducky stamps I bought ages ago from Stamposaurus (click on the name to visit their website) and haven't used in a very long time, so it was lovely to ink them up again as they're so sweet. I've coloured the ducks with PM's, the cardstock is Stampin' Up! Only Orange & Yoyo Yellow (I've embossed the orange c/s using a Cuttlebug folder), I cut the tag shape out by hand and added some embellishments from my stash, the sentiment came with the duck stamps.

TFL and hope you can join in with us this week

A lovely blog award

I've received this really lovely award from the super-talented (and really lovely lady) Lisa, thank you so much Lisa for thinking of me. Pop over to her blog here for a look, you won't be disappointed.

I find it so hard to know who to pass on these awards to and as it's a friendship one, I'd like to pass it along to all the lovely ladies I've got to know through Blogging and to thank everyone who visits my little blog & leaves me lovely comments.

Funky Fairies No. 25

Two cards in one day, must be on a roll!

A sketch to follow over at Funky Fairies this week, which I enjoyed as it was a bit different from the norm. Not too sure about the finished result though, it seemed like a good idea but I don't know if it's a bit too busy, there's something not quite working for me - hmm.

Anyway, I've used Funky Fairies Garden set for the papers, scalloped circles & butterflies and I don't know if you can see in the photo but I've made little antenna using wire & beads as I had to cut out the butterflies & couldn't cut around the antenna. I've used some SU! Gable Green cardstock, which matched perfectly and the corners are from a fancy Cuttlebug square die, which I've cut in half. I've also embossed the centre piece of card, using a floral embossing folder.

My GD for Bee Crafty No. 9

I was thrilled to bits to be asked to be a GD over at Bee Crafty this week and got the chance to play with one of the new downloads celebrating Summer Fun, which is the theme for this week's challenge.

I love Bee's design's and this whimsical girl is no exception, looking very chilled out enjoying her cocktail (non-alcholic I'm sure!).

I've gone for a bright & colourful theme to fit in with the challenge and the image and used Stampin' Up! cardstock, papers & markers, so it all co-ordinated really easily.

Recipe:

Image: Bee Crafty - Whimsical Girl with drink
Markers: Only Orange, Gable Green, Tempting Turquoise, Real Red, Summer Sun, Creamy Caramel, Pretty in Pink, Green Galore, Apricot Appeal (skin tone)
C/S: Only Orange, Whisper White
DSP: Rainbow Sherbert
Flowers, brad, heart bead & raffia lace all from my stash.

I'd now like the weather to be sat outside having a fruity cocktail myself!

Opening Night - A Success!

Our latest Theatrical offering down at Horsehay Amateur Dramatics is an evening of 3 one-act plays. It's the first time the company has done something like this and we weren't sure how well it would go down with our very loyal audience, ticket sales were very slow last week, but we needn't have worried. Opening night last night to a full house who all seemed to thoroughly enjoy themselves. It was quite a mixture of plays, the first was a drama, the second a Noel Coward comedy (bit old fashioned for me) and the last, which I was in, was a good old farce and very funny. We all had great fun doing it and it went really well last night, no prompts, no mishaps and the special effect (a small explosion!!) went off exactly right - for the first time ever! Two more nights to go and then a rest, which'll be nice but I always miss it the minute I stop.

Here's a couple of piccies, two from rehearsals and one from the dress rehearsal. For a nice change it was fairly normal clothes for me, although I did have to look a bit frumpy!

Charisma Challenge # 28 - Sketch

Morning all, it's Thursday once again - where did that week go to? And so it must be time for another Challenge over at Charisma. We set a sketch to follow this week and this is my take on it.

I've been very good and stuck to the layout, although I thought I'd finished the card, took a photo and then realised I still had to put 3 embellies down the right hand side - oops. So this is piccie no. 2!

A friend sent me some Lily at the Beach images, knowing how desperate I am to get my hands on them and I couldn't wait to use one of them. I've coloured the image with SU! Markers to match the papers and c/s, which are all SU!

Here's the recipe:

Image: Pink Cat Studios - Lily at the Beach
Stampin' Up! Markers: Old Olive, Bashful Blue, Real Red, Summer Sun, Creamy Caramel, Apricot Appeal (skin tone)
Sentiment: Stampin' Up! "Circle of Friendship"
Cardstock: SU! Whisper White & Bashful Blue
DSP: SU! Summer Picnic
Embellies: Various - from my stash

Hope you can join us over at Charisma this week

Lovely Blog Award

Thanks so much to my lovely friend Carly for this gorgeous award, I'm always genuinely thrilled when someone passes on an award to me, it's lovely to be thought of - so thank you again honey, I'm chuffed to bits!

Now to pass it on, this is the hard bit, there are so many fab blogs & bloggers out there, but I've chosen the following five, as these ladies always find the time to leave me lovely comments on my posts and are very supportive. I'm in awe of their talents, pop over to their blogs and you'll see what I mean and I gain heaps of inspiration from each of them - thanks girls - you're fab!!

Blog Candy Alert!

This is the amazing candy on offer over at PriscillaStyles blog - WOW! You can find her candy & the details here

There's also a bonus candy (as if this wasn't enough!) for displaying the Midnight Madness logo and you can find out about the MM Challenges on Priscilla's blog too.

Digital Tuesday meets Carol's Sketch Fun

I've used Carol's sketch & combined it with Digital Tuesday's theme of sweet birthdays - yum!

The image is a digi-stamp from Digi-stamp Boutique and I've coloured it with PM's, I've chalked around the edge of the oval with some SU! chalks. The DSPs are SU! from the set "Tea Party" and the cardstock is SU! Pretty in Pink, I've put a strip through my Cuttlebug with an embossing folder, the bling embellies are from my stash & the sentiment is computer generated.

Ooh fancy some cake now - shame I'm on a diet, an apple just doesn't have the same appeal somehow!!!

Bee Crafty No. 8

"Things with Wings" is the theme over at Bee Crafty this fortnight and I'd just bought this gorgeous digi-stamp from CC Designs which fit perfectly.

I made this card for my blogging buddy Lisa, who had a birthday last week and so can post it now as she's had the card.

I coloured my sweet little fairy with PM's and a Sakura Stardust pen for her wings, the c/s is SU! Glorious Green and the papers were freebies from somewhere and I'm sorry but I can't remember (if anyone knows do let me know so I can give the credit!). The lace, flower & button are all from my stash.
